2nd Vice President

  • Upholds the Constitution, By-Laws and Rules of the ball club
  • Chairs meetings in the absence of the President and 1st Vice-President
  • Attends registration to talk to prospective coaches and other parents
  • Oversees the T-Ball, Tadpole and Mosquito divisions  by:
    • recruiting coaches and assistants, and coordinators
    • after executive approval of coaches and assistants, pairing up the coaches through discussions with the coaches into coaching combinations that suit the executive guidelines and the coaches
    • phoning previous year players not currently registered to see if they want to play if decided necessary by  the executive.
    • chairing the March divisional coaches meeting:
    • organizing dispersal of Mosquito players to teams in the executive approved method
    • handing out T-Ball and Tadpole team lists
    • going over club and division rules, clinics, all-star, code of ethics, etc.
    • informing each coach who the contact person is for the team sponsor 
    • helping the equipment/uniform managers distribute the equipment/uniforms
    • going over coordinators duties with the division coordinator
    •  (T-Ball and Tadpole) organizing on-field training with the coaches to include playing the game and all coming to a conclusion on how to play before any team has a practice – having a follow-up meeting at the end of April
    • helping the coordinators throughout the season
    • doing his/her best to ensure all coaches, assistants, and coordinators are following the clubs constitution, bylaws, procedures and rules handling divisional problems with the coordinators and in obeisance of the bylaws
    • bringing to the executive any items that are unusual or not covered in the bylaws
    • informing coaches of any information from the executive or any rule or other reminders by way of newsletter, meeting, phone or in person
    • distributing hard copy information from other executive members to coaches
    • keeping in touch with coaches by attending games and phoning to see how things are going, if there are any problems, equipment needed or exchanged, etc. and following up on
    • handling correspondence and arrangements for any season teams to enter into invitational tournaments from other organizations (Mosquito only)
    • organizing the teams to enter into any club tournaments (Mosquito only)
    • keeping the directors informed of the divisions
    • organizing an early June meeting to go over year end tournament schedule, rules and draw for tournament team number (Mosquito only), collect manuals and rule books, do player evaluations, discuss the season taking improvement suggestions to bring to the executive
    • helping to get the equipment and uniforms in from the coaches at season end
    • Works with the 1st Vice-President to set up technical and theory coaching clinics – in addition to coaches signing up for these at the March meeting, phoning of coaches may be required to confirm attendance of coach, date and times, payment method and what to bring – attends the clinics to check off coaches that actually attended and gives this list to the Secretary
    • Works with the 1st Vice-President to set up player pitching and catching clinics – sends a newsletter sign-up sheet to all players in the Mosquito to Midget divisions for notification, checks back with coaches for attendees, attends the clinics to ensure all runs smoothly
    • Works with the Tournaments Coordinator and League Scheduler to set up invitational and league tournaments
    • Makes a report for the Annual General Meeting covering T-Ball, Tadpole and Mosquito Divisions
