Equipment
- Uniforms
- Conventional baseball uniforms, including a shirt, pants, cap and socks as used by teams in the major leagues.
- Gloves
- The catcher wear a standard catcher’s mitt.
- The first baseman wear a “trapper glove”.
- Footwear
- Standard running shoes or shoes with molded rubber cleats (soccer style shoes) may be used.
- Shoes with metal cleats are prohibited.
- Bat
- Shall not be more than thirty-two inches in length. It shall not be more that two and three-quarter inches (2-3/4″) in diameter at its thickest part.
- Rule 17 (Equipment) will apply in its entirety.
- Helmets
- All batting helmets shall be equipped with chin straps. Players of this age group on any field of play, must wear an approved batting helmet with chin strap attached.
Playing Field
- The regulation playing field shall be laid out in agreement with measurements provided Figure 3-5.
- The distance between all bases shall be 70 feet (70′).
- The distance between the point of home plate and the pitcher’s rubber shall be forty-eight feet (48′).
- The batter’s boxes shall be 3 feet (3′) wide and 6 feet (6′) long and the inside lines shall be parallel to and six inches (6″) away from the side of the plate.
It shall extend three feet (3′) in front of and three feet (3′) behind the center of home plate. - The pitcher’s mound shall be raised to a gradual slope to a height above the levels of the base-paths of six inches (6″).

General Rules
- In this division of play, pitching is allowed and subject to rule 13 in its entirety.
- The standard playing rules of baseball shall apply with some exceptions as listed below.
- Each team shall be structured as per Rule 3.
- Should one team not be able to field a full team of eight players, and the opposing team can, the game is “forfeited”. The teams may play an exhibition game; however, pitchers will be subject to Rule 13 in its entirety and Rule 21(D)(3).
- Before the game begins the manager or coach must give a copy of their batting lineup to the opposing manager and official scorekeeper.
- All players in attendance at League games in which their team is participating must play at least three complete innings of a five inning game, four complete innings of a six inning game, or five complete of a seven inning game. Late shows to be added to the end of the lineup and will be allowed to play. If game has been declared forfeited, it will remain so.
Administration of Games
- Starting Time and Time Limits It is recommended that starting times for games be 6:00 p.m.
- Length of Game
Regulation games shall be six (7) innings.- If the game is called for any reason, it is an official game if five (5) innings have been completed or if the home team has scored more runs in four or four and a fraction half-innings than the visiting team has scored in five completed half innings.
- Games may be cancelled due to rain and thunder/lightning. See Rule 12(7). If a game is cancelled because of weather conditions prior to becoming a regulation game, it shall be considered a suspended game and Rule 14(4) applies. In this case, reschedule the game commencing from exactly where you left off. Whoever shows up for this rescheduled game will play, but the concept is to try and maintain the same semblance as when the game was suspended.
- Rule 14 shall apply in its entirety.
- Pitching Rules
- A pitcher may pitch a maximum of seven (7) innings in a calendar day and twelve (12) innings in a calendar week.
- The requirements of Rule 13 shall apply in its entirety.
- The standard pitching rules of baseball shall apply as to “legal pitching delivery”. The two legal pitching positions, the “Wind-up Position” and the “Set Position” may be used at any time.
- During invitational tournaments approved by the B.C.M.B.A. directors, Rule 108(D) shall apply
- First year pitchers or a combination of first year pitchers must pitch a minimum of two consecutive innings. Should a game be completed and this pitching rule not be followed. the offending team will forfeit the game.
- A pitcher who hits two batters in a game shall be removed from the pitching position.

- Leadoff : Leadoffs are permitted in this division of play

- Dropped Third Strike
- The batter may become a runner when the third strike is not caught providing:
- first base is unoccupied, or
- first base is occupied with two out.
- Should a catcher drop a third strike, the ball is alive and in play. Runners may advance at their own risk subject to Rule (4)(c) above.

- Umpires
- The requirements of Rule 15 and Rule 18 shall apply
- The provisions of Rule 21 (A) (3) shall apply.
- 10-run mercy rule is in effect after five complete innings, four and one-half if the home team is leading.
- Scorekeepers: Standard baseball score keeping procedures shall apply.
